Our first show

Better get used to it, I’ll be posting lots of pictures of their shows…I’m so proud of them! they really shone today, doing exceptionally well for not only their first show, but it had also been rushed as we were expecting our first show to be next week. They had learned the dances in record time and I think they made the people at the home for the elderly that we visited very happy. The highlight was when they went around after the program to shake hands and give hugs to the patients. Some of them were sitting there all excited like their Christmas present had come early as they waited for the next child to come around. Only Jo came to do filming, so most of it was video filming. These are the best pictures…will need to see what we can do about that next time…

What can I give Him…

We wish you a Merry Christmas!

Pix from Bled

The castle from where we started. The sky was glorious; the sun reflecting off the lake; too beautiful!

Charlotte on the wall overlooking the lake and surrounding hills. I didn’t actually get any good pictures of the lake as the glare was too strong.

The gang in the entrance. They look like conquering heros…heh

CC shocked and amazed by the skeleton!

Jordan standing by the spears. Sorry it’s fuzzy, either he or I moved…

Charlotte posing by the pretty dress. For some reason I had a hard time getting any pictures of Cherise…she was too fast or something!

Bled Castle

Today we took a field trip back to the castle in Bled we had visited in the summer . The castle is on a hill, which for some odd reason, I thought we were driving up…sure enough, we decided to take the hike up the steep leaf and rock filled path. Jordan got ‘tired’ after 2 1/2 minutes, so I ended up carrying him the whole way up. I keep telling myself I need to work out more…

The castle itself was beautiful and interesting, the view breathtaking. The sun came out the whole time we were there which warmed things up a tad as well. We got to go inside the museum which included swords, old guns and weapons, some clothes that were recreated from old paintings and even a skeleton found from 200 yrs ago!

Everywhere we looked when on the walls the view was beautiful. On one side, the snow capped Alps towered in the blue sky, the other side had the lake reflecting the sun. We took pictures, I’ll post them asap.

Our first show is tomorrow. Pray for us!

I need You

I had been giving thought recently to the expressions we use: need and want, trying to define their uses, etc. Want is, to me, a more carnal word. It’s what we use when the item in question isn’t really something we must have, we want toys as children, we want chocolates, beer, things that satisfy the flesh. Need is used for things we can’t do without. We need food, sleep, and love. We need friendship and we say ‘I need you’ when we feel we can’t live without someone. When I think of need, I think of this song, the theme song to the Jesus mini series in 2000. Yes, there’s times when I need someone to hold me and tell me everthing is going to be alright, but no one does it quite as well as He does.

Title: I Need You

I don’t need a lot of things
I can get by with nothing
Of all the blessings life can bring
I’ve always needed something
But I’ve got all I want
When it comes to loving you
You’re my only reason
You’re my only truth

I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From heaven’s gate
There’s a freedom in your arms
That carries me through
I need you

You’re the hope that moves me
To courage again
You’re the love that rescues me
When the cold winds, rage
And it’s so amazing
‘Cause that’s just how you are
And I can’t turn back now
‘Cause you’ve brought me too far

I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From heaven’s gate
There’s a freedom in your arms
That carries me through
I need you
Oh yes I do

It’s been quiet around here, I’ve been under the weather as have the kids, sort of a mild flu with sore throats, colds, etc. Thankfully, it didn’t last long and we are back!

Altogether the kids have completed learning 7 songs and are gearing up for their first performance on Thursday. They are doing so well, I’m amazed at how quickly they learned and the steps this year are more complicated.  I would really like to be able to post a clip of some of their dances…if anyone knows how or where I can upload and link…I’d appreciate the help.

Our kitchen overseer is back from his loooooong trip, so I can sit back and just be the sidekick again, yay! No, seriously, this job is too big for one person alone, so I’m so glad to have someone to work with. We’re planning and cooking the Christmas dinner, so it’ll be fun!
