God created us with a sense of humor and the ability to laugh at things that are funny. So I’m sure He Himself has a sense of humor, especially when I look at some of the things and people He has created and the funny situations He lets them get into. Someone has said that a sense of humor is the ability to see the funny side of a serious situation and to laugh at things when they’re not the way they ought to be.

God created you to enjoy the life He’s given you and to love and enjoy Him forever and to try to help others to do the same!

PRO.17:22 A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.

ECC.3:1, 4 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven…A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance;

If you can laugh at it you can live with it.

Are you worsted in a fight?

Are you cheated of your right?

Laugh it off.

Don’t make tragedies of trifles,

Don’t shoot butterflies with rifles—

Laugh it off.

Does your work get into kinks?

Are you near all sorts of brinks?

Laugh if off.

If it’s sanity you’re after,

There’s no recipe like laughter—

Laugh it off.

Humor is enjoying the contrast between the way things are & the way they ought to be, & being able to laugh about it.

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine! I love to see you in a happy, bouncy, cheery mood. Make sure that you’re taking time to laugh every day. Take time to laugh as often as you can. Take time to be jolly and jovial, and to fully revel in all the happiness around you.

Words and music: Charlie Chaplin

Smile, though your heart is aching,

Smile, even though it’s breaking,

When there are clouds in the sky you’ll get by if you

Smile through your pain and sorrow,

Smile, and maybe tomorrow

You’ll see the sun come shining through for you.

Light up your face with gladness,

Hide every trace of sadness,

Although a tear may be ever so near,

That’s the time you must keep on trying.

Smile, what’s the use in crying.

You’ll find that life is still worthwhile

If you’ll just smile.

There’s a time to laugh, & a time to weep—a time for everything. But let’s always be able to smile through our tears—a ray of sunshine is even more beautiful in the midst of rain.

Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face.—Victor Hugo

We look before and after,

And pine for what is not;

Our sincerest laughter

With some pain is fraught;

Our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thought.

Yet if we could scorn

Hate and pride and fear;

If we were things born

Not to shed a tear,

I know not how Thy joy we ever should come near.

            —Percy Bysshe Shelley

When our eyes are washed with tears, they can better see the invisible land where there shall be no more tears.

ISA.25:8a He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces.

REV.7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

REV.21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

PSA.30:5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.

He was better to me than all my hopes,

He was brighter than all my fears;

He made a bridge of my broken works,

And a rainbow of my tears.

He washed my eyes with tears that I might see.

Your soul would have no rainbows if it had no tears.

Always try to smile through your tears—a ray of sunshine is even more beautiful in the midst of rain.

Tears are often the telescope by which men see far into Heaven.

As each day goes by

My comfort is knowing Your love is true

In Your Word I see why

There’s a reason things happen the way they do

And when I feel there’s nothing more for me

‘Cause the dreams that I had were not meant to be,

I look up to You and there’s…

No more tears

All the heartache shall be turned into laughter

We will cry no more

In Your arms,

In Heaven there’ll be no more tears

When I rest in Your arms,

I can tell you my longings, my secret prayer

I believe that You hear

When there’s no one to lean on,

 know You’re there

The loneliness of the night

Is so much lighter then

In the thrill of Your love I find joy again

I know that You care and there’s…

No more tears

All the heartache shall be turned into laughter

We will cry no more in Your arms in Heaven

We will cry no more… tears

All the heartache shall be turned into laughter

We will cry no more in Your arms…in Heaven

There’ll be no more tears

In Heaven… there’ll be no more tears
